I appreciate all kinds of art from classical to abstract. Each presents its own unique challenges to master. It will be a long time before I can say I have mastered any of these techniques, but the joy is in the trying! Coming up with an idea and figuring out how to present it is what keeps me going.
My goal is to grapple with whatever topic has come to the surface asking to be shown to the world. Sometimes these come to me in the middle of the night with gleaming glints of mischief grinning in my brain, and I chuckle the whole time I paint it. No one else might appreciate the humor, the mystery, the emotion, the love that seek expression through my medium, but that’s okay. There will be a few, and it is for myself and those few for whom I paint. Right: Teresa on Cimmaron, who waited 25 years to teach me dressage. Bless you, Cimmie! |
